2024 Mushroom Walk & Foray

Join Rodney Webb of Appalachia Fungorum on a mushroom foray in our 2024 Fall Fungi Series. Hone your ID skills as we set off on an excursion through the woods to find our fall fungi friends!

We will meet at Blackberry Blossom Campground for a short lecture before heading out to the trails. We will collect some mushrooms for ID and spend some time learning how to properly identify mushrooms. The best way to learn mushroom ID is to go out and find some with a professional, and Rodney Webb is a local Mushroom Rockstar!

Rodney is the owner of Appalachian Fungorum in Marshall, NC and has been cultivating various kinds of fungi for home use as well as area farmer's markets for over 20 years. He is one of HERBalachia's favorite fun instructors, and is always generous with his experience and knowledge.

This is a moderate to light hike on a trail to look for and identify our local fall mushrooms. Please dress appropriately for a walk in the woods, rain or shine.
