Winter Plant Walk
Winter Plant Walk
Join us as we embark on a seasonal excursion to Limestone Cove in Unicoi, TN.
This is a seasonal series where we walk the same path in every season to see the difference in plants, foliage, fungi, and fauna. You can sign up for one or all of them.
This plant walk series will take place in the Limestone Cove area of Unicoi, TN off of Rt 107. Lead by Phil & Kat, plant buddies.
We will walk the trail up, turn around and head back down, then wander about the picnic area to visit some plant friends in different elevations and eco-systems.
This is a four hour event. Please dress appropriately for a moderate to light hike and dress for the weather. Pack a lunch to enjoy at the Picnic Area before we explore the Creekside.
This walk is rain or shine. If the weather is bad enough, we will contact you to reschedule.
Kat Hayes is the owner and director of HERBalachia, a graduate of the Lifestyle Program, and a life long herbal student. One of her hobbies is walking around in the woods to visit the plant friends. She embarks on the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage in the Great Smoky National Forest yearly, and it has become one of her favorite events of the year. She hopes to bring a little bit of the Pilgrimage attitude back to North East Tennessee with this seasonal plant walk series.
Kat & Phil have been going on plant walks together since they were in the Herbalist Lifestyle Program together a few years ago. They want to share the fun and their collective knowledge with you!
